Генерализованная форма менингококковой инфекции (ГФМИ) продолжает оставаться серьезной медико-социальной проблемой общественного здравоохранения из-за высокого уровня летальности и частых осложнений после перенесенной инфекции.</p><p>Целью настоящего исследования явилось выявление современных эпидемиологических особенностей менингококковой инфекции в Москве.</p></sec><sec><title>Материалы и методы</title><p>Материалы и методы. Проведен анализ случаев менингококковой инфекции, зарегистрированных в Москве с 2014 г. по 2018 г., и результатов исследований биоматериала от больных ГФМИ.</p></sec><sec><title>Результаты</title><p>Результаты. В Москве выявлены особенности течения эпидемического процесса менингококковой инфекции: рост показателя заболеваемости с вовлечением в эпидемический процесс подростков и молодых взрослых; увеличение доли штаммов менингококка серогрупп W и A в серогрупповом пейзаже Neisseria meningitidis; высокий уровень летальности.</p></sec><sec><title>Вывод</title><p>Вывод. Представляется целесообразным рассмотреть вопрос о внесении изменений в тактику вакцинопрофилактики менингококковой инфекции, заключающихся в расширении контингента, нуждающегося в специфической защите: подростки, молодые взрослые и лица старше 65 лет.</p></sec></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><sec><title>Aims</title><p>Aims. The purpose of this study was to identify current epidemiological features of meningococcal infection in Moscow.</p></sec><sec><title>Materials and methods</title><p>Materials and methods. Cases of invasive meningococcal disease in Moscow from 2014 to 2018 and the biomaterial from patients with an invasive meningococcal disease were analyzed.</p></sec><sec><title>Results</title><p>Results. The features of the epidemic process of meningococcal disease in Moscow were revealed: increasing in the incidence rate involving teenagers and young adults into the epidemic process; meningococcal strains of serogroups W and A increased in the etiology of the invasive meningococcal disease; high mortality rate.</p></sec><sec><title>Conclusions</title><p>Conclusions.
