Elena B. Brusina ‒ Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Epidemiology Department, Kemerovo State Medical University, Kemerovo, Russia.
In 1983 she graduated from Kemerovo State Medical University.
Brusina is an expert in epidemiology, she has 420 published scientific papers including 5 monographs and 2 patents. She developed theory, methods and the implementation way for epidemiological surveillance for healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs); also, she suggested a framework of the National Prevention Concept for HCAIs, the concept of ensuring epidemiological safety of medical technologies, theoretical and methodological basis for using of bacteriophages as disinfectants, she conducted researches on epidemiologic and genetic emergence mechanism of antibiotic-resistant strains. She is an Editor-in-chief in Fundamental and Clinical Medicine, scientific editor in Epidemiology and Vaccinal Prevention, a member of the editorial boards: Russian Journal of Preventive Medicine and Public Health, Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases.
